Job Title: ACCOUNTANT II / CHILD NUTRITION SUPERVISOR
Minimum Qualifications:
Immediate Supervisor: Child Nutrition Director
Salary: Service Personnel Salary Class G
Evaluation: Performance on this job will be evaluated by the
Child Nutrition Director in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of service personnel.
Job Goals: To assist the Child Nutrition Director in implementing the Child Nutrition program for Hardy County Schools including the CACFP program and the School Nutrition program.

9. Collaborates with the Child Care Nutrition Director, school personnel, parents, students and the community to maintain effective delivery of services throughout all nutrition programs under the responsibility of Hardy County Schools.
Performance Responsibilities:
Job Performance responsibilities include assisting the Child Nutrition Director in maintaining the Nutrition Programs for Hardy County Schools including the following:
1. Posses knowledge of the principals of accounting within the scope of an Accountant II including:
o Demonstrates effect use of school accounting procedures on WVEIS with little supervision
o Prepare schedule of accounts payable and receivable
o Prepare cash disbursement reports.
o Prepare checks to pay bills.
o Verify budget code and vendor address on all purchase orders.
o Maintain alphabetical files on completed and pending purchase orders.
o Verify invoices with receiving copies of purchase orders.
o Notify vendors regarding proper billing and credit of purchase orders.
o Receive invoices, audit for accuracy, and match with purchase order receipts approved for payment.
o Organize monthly bills for payment on a prescribed time schedule in accordance with data processing procedures.
o Maintain a file of paid orders, which includes copies of purchase order receipts, invoices, and check copies.
o Reconcile accounts.
o Maintain financial records as directed.
2. Maintains a knowledge of the following:
o Handbook of School Finance of WV
o The Manual for Purchasing, Receiving, Inventory Control, and Accounts Payable.
o WV School Law as it applies to the specific job assignment.
o Tax Laws regarding issuance of 1099 to accounts payable vendors
o All other notebooks/manuals necessary to complete job assignment.
3. Assists with the development and implementation of new programs, policies and procedures as well as facilitating change in existing programs, policies and procedures.
4. Collaborates with the Child Nutrition Director, school personnel, parents, students and the community to maintain an effective delivery of services throughout all Nutrition programs.
5. Assists the Child Nutrition Director with the following CACFP responsibilities including:
o Demonstrating the ability and a willingness to learn new computer software (Warrington Data Systems) crucial to the operation of the CACFP.
o Distributing appropriate provider reporting forms.
o Communicating CACFP procedures and regulations to providers as questions arise.
o Reviewing meal pattern requirements and food serving requirements on monthly menu planning sheets.
o Tracking child enrollments and withdrawals and contacts provider when deficiencies occur.
o Reporting non-compliance with state childcare regulations to Child Nutrition Director.
o Maintaining required records for each provider.
o Verifying license/certification/registration of provider.
o Performing mandatory on-site visits to providers and completing monitor review reports.
o Preparing accurate financial reports in a timely manner.
o Preparing monthly reimbursement checks for family day care providers.
6. Assists the Child Nutrition Director with the following School Nutrition Program responsibilities:
o Dissemination and collection of Free and Reduced Meals application.
o Development, implementation and maintenance of an inventory control system for food service equipment.
o Purchasing and receiving procedures for all supplies and food, including commodities.
o Implementation of centralized billing and financial management system in compliance with state and federal regulations.
o Maintenance of on-site inspections to ensure program compliance.
o Implementation of countywide menu planning.
o Scheduling of staff development in compliance with state and federal regulations.
o Preparation of accurate financial reports in a timely manner.
7. All other duties as assigned by the Child Nutrition Director to maintain the integrity of the programs.
