Contract Position /Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

Job Title:  Clerk of the Works

 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Architectural of Engineering Degree or equivalent approved field work experience in commercial or industrial construction.
  2. Must have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all phases of non-residential construction and be capable of evaluating construction.
  3. Extensive experience in major commercial or industry building construction
  4. Individuals should have a 35mm camera or digital camera, a valid driver’s license and be prepared to use their own vehicle.

 

Terms of Employment:

The Clerk-of-the-Works is NOT a permanent staff position.  A contract will be issued for a “Clerk-of-the-Works” for a specific length of time, with specific contractual terms, and at a stipulated salary as per West Virginia School Building Authority Guidelines.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Observe work being performed by contractors at the construction site in accordance with the construction contract documents and SBA Guidelines.  Keep Director of Facilities informed of any issues that may happen, and report on the progress for the owners, and the SBA.

    Duties Include:

 

Background checks required for all positions.
