Job Openings For Hardy County Schools As Of 

June 27, 2008

 

The Hardy County Board of Education will accept applications through 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, for the following Professional Educator positions for the 2008-2009 school year:

 

«           * School Guidance Counselor – Moorefield Intermediate School / Moorefield Middle School – 200-day employment term beginning August 21, 2008.  Must be certified in School Counseling and Guidance at the appropriate age levels.

 

«          * Middle School Math Teacher – East Hardy Early Middle School – 200-day employment term beginning August 21, 2008.  Must be certified in Middle School Math, grades 5-9 or 5-12.

 

«          * Elementary Teacher – East Hardy Early Middle School – 200-day employment term beginning August 21, 2008.  Must be certified in Elementary Education, would prefer Middle School endorsement in Science or Social Studies.

 

«          * Science / Physics – Moorefield High School / East Hardy High School – 200-day employment term beginning August 21, 2008.  Must be certified to teach Physical Science, Environmental Science and Physics in Grades 9-12.

 

«          * English / Language Arts – East Hardy Early Middle School – Must be certified to teach grades 7 and 8 English/Language Arts.

 

«          * English / Language Arts – East Hardy High School / Moorefield Middle School – Teach Reading at Moorefield Middle School in the A.M., travel to East Hardy High School daily to teach English/Language Arts/Theater.  Must be certified to teach grade 7 Reading and grade 12 English/Language Arts.

 

«          * Head Teacher – Moorefield Intermediate School / Moorefield Middle School – Must have three years sucessful teaching experience and meet minimum standards for teaching certification as set forth by the WVDE in Minimum Standards for Licensure of WV School Personnel (Policy 5202) for the subject and grade level assigned.  Masters degree preferred.  Will have six additional days, $800.00 base pay, and a $600.00 index supplement per year.  Primary responsibility will be discipline, attendance, and other duties as assigned by the principal.  Experience with WVEIS Attendance is preferred, effective August 19, 2008.

 

«          * Music – Moorefield Middle School / Moorefield High School – ½-time position.  Must be certified to teach Music grades 5-12.

The Hardy County Board of Education will accept applications through 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, for the following Service Personnel positions, which is subject to the preference established by law and the testing required by law and the State Board of Education regulations:

 

«          * Extracurricular Bus Run – from East Hardy High School to Moorefield to EWVCTC, MMS, then to SBVCTC to East Hardy High School, must be able to meet regular bus schedule within the school year.  Leaves EHHS approximately 11:30 a.m. and returns to meet regular bus evening run schedule.  $4,000 per school year.

 

«          * Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach – East Hardy High School

 

«          * Assistant Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach – Moorefield High School

 

«          * Athletic Director – Moorefield High School – 203-day employment position beginning July 1, 2008.  WV Teacher Certification, three years experience as a coach desired.

 

«          * Team / Coaching Assistants for Fall Sports (formally known as “volunteer” coach):  Must have a high school diploma, background and reference check, and completed the WVSSAC First Aid and Coaching training for those applying who are not professional educators.  These trainings must be completed before applying and being hired for the assignment.  Must be eligible for a coaching license through the WVDE, and is responsible for all cost associated with the license.  Previous coachings experience is also required.  This individual works directly under the Head Coach and will be responsible to the principal of the school, or designee.  Minimal pay of $1.00 per year/season.  These coaches are limited to the number of paid coaches per sport.

The Hardy County Board of Education will accept applications until the following Professional Educator position is filled with a certified/qualified applicant.

 

«          * Countywide Speech / Language Pathologist – MA or MS in Speech / Language Pathology may be eligible for National Board supplement with county stipend for ASHA certification.
